Non-surgical weight loss procedures

If you are overweight/ obese with a BMI (body mass index) between 25 and 35 and/ or unable to reduce weight through diet and exercise, if you are afraid of surgery or are averse to scars and a longer hospital stay. Or if you are suffering from type 2 diabetes, Enliten is here to help you begin the journey of your transformation with 3 scarless procedures to choose from. Actual weight loss will vary based on various factors, but our current studies suggest that 15-20% weight loss can occur in about six months.

Endoscopic Sleeve Gastroplasty (ESG)

Endoscopic Sleeve Gastroplasty (ESG) utilizes an endoscope (a tube with a camera appended which is inserted orally down a patient’s throat) rather than making incisions to perform the surgery. ESG works by dividing the stomach into a gradually emptying upper part and a normally working lower part. This will reduce the gastric volume of the stomach by up to 70–80% as well as alter the way that the stomach functions. ESG avoids removal of the stomach. Often patients can leave hospital on the same day after the completion of ESG procedure.

Endoscopic Revision

Endoscopic revision for bariatric revision provides an additional option to help the patients jump-start the weight-loss process. The procedure involves the insertion of an endoscope through the mouth (under monitored anesthesia) and assessing the stomach and intestines. If the pouch and/or stoma has been stretched, sutures can be placed to reduce the pouch size and opening. The result is a re-tightened structure that prompts renewed feelings of satiety to curb food intake.
Patients who undergo endoscopic revision experience lose about 10-25 kgs depending on individual anatomy and motivation to succeed.

Intragastric Ballooning

An Intragastric is a weight-loss procedure that uses saline-filled silicone balloon which is placed in the stomach and helps lose weight by limiting how much one can eat.

An intragastric balloon makes the patient feel fuller faster than they normally would, which often means they will eat less leading to desired weight loss. It may also help improve or resolve conditions often related to being overweight, including:

  • Heart disease or stroke
  • High blood pressure
  • Severe sleep apnea
  • Type 2 diabetes

Argon Plasma Coagulation

Argon Plasma Coagulation (APC) is performed by endoscopy, where the endoscopist surgeon uses argon gas to cause a burn in the region of the enlarged anastomosis to promote healing and decrease the size of the anastomosis, minimizing the gastric emptying rate. This process aims to increase the patient’s satiety and facilitate weight loss.
This method is effective in reducing the weight regained after gastric bypass. It’s economic, feasible, with low risks and side effects and can be performed several times.
